“If it makes you happy, it doesn’t have to make sense to others.” It’s an adage I’ve been hearing quite frequently on the internet, and it’s one that I wholeheartedly agree with.
And do you know what makes me happy? The Classic 2CV Racing Championship, an endurance racing series in which everyone drives–you guessed it–a Citroen 2CV.
The best part, however, is the 24-hour race the series holds once a year, which leaves me with just one question: Where do I sign up?

This is certainly an interesting single-make series, isn't it.

I don't remember who but a former F1 or LeMans driver raced 2CVs and said it was hysterical fun.

I don't see how you could possibly have a bad time racing a 2CV spec series. It just looks like way too much fun, even if your engine blows up on the first lap.

I think there's usually 3-class version of this "on the continent". "stock class", "mod class", and "BMW Bike Engine mod class". and, at some point, they started racing 1st gen Citroen C1's too.

also, Chris Harris has made a bunch of love notes to the 2CV over the years, including taking one of the race cars around the TopGear track:

In reply to Colin Wood :
At 1100lb cars with 45hp and probably good for 85mph how could they not be stupid fun.
When I went to SCCA drivers school with the 1200 it still had the stock motor (68hp) and I managed all of 82 mph down the back stretch at LVMS.
You have lots of time to philosophize yer next move.

Well, dang. If only the timing were a little better...
