I love that there is a list of C8 upgrades for track use, just like a Miata or Civic. There's probably a similar list for the Huracan. Regardless of your budget, you can always go faster.

I know, right? I probably won't be able to afford a modern Ferrari or Lamborghini, but it's good to know that there are go-fast parts out there for them.

Dirt late model racing legend Scott Bloomquist once told me, "There's nothing that cannot be improved." I think of that statement nearly every day.

Ah yes the C8 corvette, the most "grassroots" of vehicles.

Mark is putting in the work now so that the rest of us can benefit in a decade or so when the new cars get down close to their depreciation limit.

Well when you compare it to similarly capable machines, it is truly the "budget" offering in that group/class, so yes with that perspective in mind, it is "grassroots".

Do these mods make it competitive in a particular class/series?  Or is it just an HPDE toy?  Not that the latter is bad, I'm just curious as to whether there's a series where this car and these mods make sense from an organized competition standpoint.

I just love the article picture, with the front wing throwing sparks.

A fine question. My car happens to have a quite weak replacement motor, making only 395whp. So because of the weight, and low-ish power, I can run it right at the top of TT3 with a Toyo R and be very competitive. However Allen Patten, who is mentioned in the article, has a very healthy 435whp in his car, and ran basically under the TT2 record (1:55s) at VIR with a nearly stock car on Supercar 3Rs. Once he puts our full aero package on it, he will be all-dominating in TT2. So yes, they're very competitive.
