Can we talk about how bad the Porsche/Apple livery failed? It's just so bland. The Acura's though, killed it.

I was at the 1986 Long Beach Grand Prix race. The famous one where Michael Andretti beat Al Unser Jr. which was a great race. I didn't buy a ticket with a seat, but I could walk all of the way around right next to the track just on the other side of the fencing, so the cars would all come screaming into view around a corner, fly past, and then vanish around the next corner, followed by a couple minutes of silence and then they would fly into view again, and again, and again...

As I said, it was an exciting race, but the real action was out on whatever interstate exited the track (the I-710 or I-405?). I had drank a few beers, so I keep the Volvo 1800 at 55mph, but EVERYBODY else in a hot car was super revved up thinking they where Andretti or Unser Jr. and where flying down the 6 lane interstate weaving in and out of traffic for some 3 or so miles... until they came apon a bunch of waiting Highway Patrol Mustangs and Camaros, and others cop cars and by the time I drove by, had at least 20 BMWs, Mercedes, Porsches, Z cars, Camaros, Mustangs... all pulled over as I laughed and tooled on by. smiley

Andddd it looks like Acura is departing from the GTP ranks.

In reply to DirtyBird222 :

Apple hasn't used that logo for a LONG time.  The current logo / branding is colorless.  Chrome might have been interesting (though maybe not appreciated by competitors!)

In reply to VolvoHeretic :

Yeah, it's a pretty bad track to actual watch a race.  Looking at the big monitors is likely the best view...

Walking around is probably the best tactic at that track.
