First-gen Impreza owners rejoice–or, at least, the ones in Japan.

Subaru began reproducing various (and potentially hard-to-find) parts for the GC- and GF-chassis Impreza as part of its new “Subaru Heritage Service,” including weather stripping, rear decals and multiple brake components.

Need something not currently listed? The site also has a request form (in Japanese, of course), though the site seems to indicate at least three more Subaru models will be added.

While the service is currently intended for the Japanese market, perhaps if we all submit enough request forms filled with broken Japanese, Subaru might just be willing to offer the service stateside. (Because someone is going to have to return all those 2.5 RS models to factory specs.)

So, here’s one for you.

There’s currently a JDM 1996 Impreza for sale locally.

It’s automatic.

The GC8 was a great car, even in lowly 2.2 form like the one we had. Most Japanese cars leave me cold, but that little Impreza was a cheeky thing and fun to drive.
