Why don’t see we more people driving the VW Taos? It’s roomy, has a cool, utilitarian feel to it and, the big one, is crazy easy to get in and out of.

Seriously, I can’t recall the last car/SUV/whatever that had ingress and egress this easy–maybe the current Subaru Impreza, but I think this one is even easier. No step up. Open door, get in or out. Easy.

Why does this matter? Think of those born in the 1900s. Or those schlepping kids. Or dogs. Or pizzas.

Back seat? Roomy. Way roomy.

Driving manners? It’s no GTI, but it’s still comfortable and responsive. No pogoing, no tire drone. Enough power.

Good, meaty steering wheel. Supportive seats. A proper mechanical shifter. Clear gauges.

I think it looks good–a bit distinctive in a crowded world.

It even came with Yacht Rock already on the radio.
