It's totally worth the price of entry to just see some of the challenger's ingenuity up close–some really clever low-buck tech at work.

Come one, come all, for a motorsports event like no other–one that tasks competitors to build a race car without spending more than $2000, and then racing that car in autocross and drag racing sessions, plus a concours-style judged show.
Our Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge Presented by Tire Rack, Powered by AutoBidMaster and Built by Carlyle Tools returns to Gainesville Raceway, in Gainesville, Florida, this weekend, April 18-19, and you’re invited to get ringside seat to the action.
Spectators of all ages are welcome at our $2000 Challenge, where you’ll be able to view the competition on track up close, as well as enjoy access to the paddock, pits and more.
Get your spectator tickets ahead of time for just $10. Alternatively, spectator tickets can be purchased at the gate for $15.
Note that tickets are required for spectators attending on Saturday. Likewise, children under 10 years old can enter as spectators free of charge, but a parent or guardian will need to sign the track entry waiver on their behalf. A parent or guardian will also need to sign the entry waiver on behalf of any paid spectator under the age of 18.
And it’s not too late to enter a build. Registration remains open until April 17 at 11:59 pm Eastern.
The Grassroots Motorsports $2000 Challenge is presented by Tire Rack, powered by Autobidmaster and built by Carlyle Tools, in Association with CRC Industries, Knight's Automotive and BendPak.
